Château Faîteau is a wine making family business which was established in 1920.
It is located in La Livinière in the Haut Minervois region, in the foothills of the Montagne Noire (Black Mountain), where the soil benefits from abundant sunshine, and the Terroir is rich and varied.
Jean-Michel Arnaud runs the winery he created in 2000 and the first wine bottles were produced in 2001.
The "millésime" (vintage) 2000 even obtained two stars in the Guide Hachette 2004.
Since then, our wines are regularly mentioned in numerous guides.
Most of the grape harvest is done by hand in order to respect traditions as well as the quality of the grapes.
Bottling is done on site as soon as Jean-Michel Arnaud judges that the wine is ready.
The wine is then aged in bottles for a few months before being served at your table for the most special occasions.
Our philosophy is sharing our passion in order to provide you with the reflection of nature and the essence of our Terroir in each one of our bottles.
When you come to La Livinière, time steps back a bit, that same time that is missing in our busy lives.
Here, we live with all kinds of times: the past, the present and the future. We also live with the weather that gives us the wind, the rain and the sunshine.
The different times and weather guide me through my tasks as an artisan winemaker, such as tilling the soil, working in the vineyards, harvesting the grapes, the aging or the bottling of the wine, always looking forward to uncovering a special vintage wine.
Here, we take the time to let our wine unfold, to not pressure it, to patiently wait for it, to find the most beautiful words to talk about it.
When it is finally ready and offers itself to us, we still need to let it open itself to us in the glass..a little like a beautiful flower.
So take the time to taste it and enchant your tastebuds, and to let it tell you the story of our ancestors who sculpted the grapevines, the story of nature and of our passion, the story of our work of love for many generations.
